Hilarious Highlights
As Mr. Cosby says, “kids
say the darndest things.” I am going to dedicate this section of the website
to the hilarious things your kids say at school.
We were learning about words that have more than one meaning, and the particular word we were talking about was "park". They
told me one definition of a park is somewhere you play; a playground. They knew the other definition, but had the hardest
time putting it into words:
Student: Like a car.
Teacher: What does a car do?
Student: Goes in a garage.
Teacher: What does it do in the garage?
Student: The door comes down like this [demonstrates a garage door closing]
Teacher: No what does the car do?
Student: You drive in it.
Teacher: Right! And then what happens in the garage?
Students look confused...
Teacher: Do you keep driving?
Student: No.
Teacher: So a person is driving the car and then what does the car do when it gets in the garage? Does it keep driving?
Student: It stops.
Teacher: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To park is to stop!
